The youngest language in the world

Language and the basis of communication have never ceased to evolve and ricochet through the events of time and space.

But did you know that with the second highest number of official languages in the world South Africa is home to the youngest of them all: Afrikaans! It became official in 1925. With its origins deeply seeded in the country’s history when Dutch farmers settled on South African lands, the language is a mixture of 18th Century Dutch, Bantu, Khoisan and even Portuguese and Malay! Cultural diversity all in one!
