When global expansion relies on hyper-local product development

Argentina, Colombia, Italy, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey

Canva is a global visual communication platform on a mission to empower the world to design. In 2021, the brand set out to incrementally boost its international footprint by creating a library of unique, inspiring, market-bespoke design template assets with universal yet locally nuanced themes that would resonate across key local markets.

In order to scale its operations at pace, Canva tapped into Culture Connexion™, our global network of senior talent across over 140 countries. In a few weeks, we were able to set up dedicated teams of senior graphic designers, semioticians, cultural experts, copywriters and strategists to support their ambitious product development and innovation plans across 7 of their key markets.

Key to the project’s success was curating the right local expert communities who were able to roll-out at scale within short time frames, designing efficient processes and establishing cross-market standards. From sourcing local insights to feed the creative ideation process all the way to culturally sense-checking concepts, copywriting and designing local variation design templates, we delivered on Canva’s global expansion ambitions.

What they say:

"I fully recommend Creative Culture and its founder, Mélanie Chevalier, to all of those who are looking for global communication and marketing projects or expert insight identification that leverages cultural differences across countries and regions.
