Did you know… In 2019, brands need influencers to do more than just promote their products – they need to get them involved in the actual design process!
British retail giant M&S recently teamed up with seven of the UK’s biggest fashion and lifestyle influencers to create their summer shoe collection. Each of the influencers was given the opportunity to design their ideal pair of shoes.
This represents a trend in how brands and influencers interact. In order to avoid looking disingenuous in their posts, brands are making the partnerships more collaborative, giving influencers more freedom and involvement. With M&S this came in the form of designing their own shoes, which in turn means that they will be sharing more than just a paid ad with their followers – they’ll be sharing genuine excitement.
