In case you missed it... Friday was International Women’s Day 2019. To celebrate the day, Ethiopian Airlines staffed a flight from the country’s capital of Addis Ababa to Oslo, Norway with an all-female crew! From the air traffic control to the pilots – everyone involved in the running of the flight was a woman.
This isn’t the first time the airline has supported women in the field. In 2015, they launched their inaugural all-female flight to Bangkok, Thailand. In an official statement, the Group commented on the gender inequality that still exists throughout Africa, and noted how important it is to create the right conditions and models for women to break the glass ceiling. For them, the future is truly female.
